Villa Mahal is located in the bay of Kalkan, in South West Turkey on the Lycian coast. Largely thanks to its impressive coastline, fabulous beaches and multitude of historical sites. It has become recognized as one of Turkey’s most sophisticated holiday destinations.
It’s flanked by the stunning Taurus Mountains which form the southern border of the Anatolian plateau.
The most convenient airport is Dalaman Airport, just 1,5 hours from Kalkan. You may also prefer Antalya Airport which is 3 hours from Kalkan by driving.
Kalkan is an elegant harbour-side town, which clings to a steep cliff and overlooks a beautiful bay. It has a good selection of small shops, together with numerous seafront restaurants and bars – many of these are situated on roof terraces with fabulous views over the bay and small harbour.
Kalkan’s Greek origin can still be seen in its distinctive architecture which is very similar to the architecture of the nearby Greek Island of Meis (Castellorizo).
There’s also a Greek Orthodox Church by its harbour which has been converted into a mosque.
Kalkan is located on the verdant Lycian Coast – an ideal place to experience the rich array of flora and fauna. Surrounded by a multitude of ancient sites are within a 1-hour car journey:
